Advisor to the Mayor of Mariupol Pyotr Andryushchenko said that Mariupol residents have the right to find out who should answer for the fact that the occupiers were able to advance from the Crimean Isthmus to Mariupol in 3 days.
Espreso reported this information, reports URA-Inform .
“We were silent for a very long time. However, it is already worth saying who is to blame for the fact that the occupiers were able to reach Mariupol in 3 days. For example, the Russians from the north through the village of Sartana could not advance for very long; our marines held the defense there. On the Vostochny side, Azov and the border guards held the line; they also could not advance for very long. And from the Crimean Isthmus they marched 500 km. We have the right to get an answer,” Andryushchenko believes.
The official is convinced that the defense of Mariupol could have lasted longer if the occupiers had not advanced so quickly towards the city.
“I am convinced that if Mariupol had not been encircled so quickly, the defense of the city would not have lasted 86 days. And it’s generally not clear how events would have unfolded. Because what Denis Prokopenko showed, how he led the defense of Mariupol, it would be possible to fight there. Therefore, we must know who is to blame. Mariupol residents still have not heard the answer to the question of how the occupiers were able to reach the city so quickly,” he added.
