The quality of life in different countries is not limited only to economic prosperity, it is also determined by the level of overall well-being and satisfaction of people, and as a result, experts compare this parameter around the world, based on data from the World Happiness Report.

About this information was reported by RBC-Ukraine, reports URA-Inform.

The above-mentioned report is based on an analysis of the results of surveys conducted over three years, from 2021 to 2023, where respondents assessed their level of happiness, expressing your positive and negative emotions.

The study includes data collected from a worldwide poll conducted by Gallup. Participants were asked to rate their overall satisfaction with their lives on a scale from 0 to 10. Typically, about a thousand responses are collected every year from residents of different countries. The happiness rating is determined by the average of these ratings over three years.

Respondents also rated their positive emotions, such as laughter, satisfaction and interest, and negative ones, including worry, sadness and anger. However, differences in life assessments between countries tend to be larger than in the emotional sphere, which is explained by differences in people's life experiences.

In 2024, the top positions in the happiness ranking remained almost unchanged compared to the previous report. Currently, the following are recognized as the happiest countries:

  • Finland;
  • Denmark;
  • Iceland;
  • Sweden;
  • Israel;
  • Netherlands;
  • Norway;
  • Luxembourg;
  • Switzerland;
  • Australia.
