According to promoter Alexander Krasyuk, a unification fight between Ukrainian boxers Vasily Lomachenko and Denis Berinchyk is unlikely to take place.
This information was announced by the promoter on the YouTube channel «Tike Mayson», reports “URA” -Inform”.
Krasyuk, in particular, shared his expectations from possible unification fights in the lightweight division. He does not believe that a unification fight between Lomachenko and Berinchyk can take place, because the boxing community is not too interested in a fight between representatives of Ukraine.
« I think the most realistic unification fight would be between Berinchyk and Shakur Stevenson, rather than Lomachenko. I don’t think that the world community is very interested in a fight between two Ukrainians for several titles. Although for us it would be a historical event», — said Krasyuk.
The promoter also made it clear that he could not comment on the plans of Vasily Lomachenko, because he «does not know his real motives and plans».
«Many things still have to happen, but one thing I can say for sure is that we will root for our people. And, God willing, the more champions there are in Ukraine, the more often our anthem will be played, our flag will be raised, and the more mentions there will be about our state in the world media. Forward to victory», — said Alexander Krasyuk.
