The newly elected President of Slovakia Peter Pellegrini said that he will look for ways to communicate with the aggressor country Russia.

«I will say this for the first time. I would like this conflict (the war in Ukraine, — ed.) to end as quickly as possible. We will again look for ways to communicate with the Russian Federation, ways to renew relations. Of course, how will this conflict end», — he said.
At the same time, Pellegrini noted that he stands for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
«The Slovak Republic will never recognize the seized parts of the territory by force or the annexation of Crimea. These are the things that the Slovak Republic automatically has in its foreign policy. And we will not violate this», — added Peter Pellegrini.
At the same time, the Slovak leader noted that his country will pursue cooperation with the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance. Also, according to Pellegrini, from now on Slovakia’s foreign policy will be even more “sovereign.”
«We must look at everything sides of the world», — he noted.
In addition, the newly elected president of Slovakia commented on the possibility of the country’s armed forces participating in hostilities outside the state.
«A Slovak soldier should not take part in any military conflict anywhere, in particular in Ukraine», — Pellegrini said.
