Scientists have recreated the original appearance of magnificent buildings: what the Egyptian pyramids looked like during the time of the pharaohs.

The Egyptian pyramids rising from the sands of Giza are a testament to human ingenuity and engineering. The ancient pyramids have stood for thousands of years and are some of the best-preserved architectural monuments in the world. However, over the millennia, the pyramids have changed.
Scientists have shown what the ancient majestic buildings looked like when they were first built. They recreated the original appearance of the Egyptian pyramids. According to their data, the pyramids that served as tombs for the pharaohs did not always have their current sandy brown color.
It is noted that the pyramids were originally covered with white limestone, which gave them a polished appearance and made them shine under the sun's rays. This applies to both the pyramids in Giza and other places.
In particular, the Great Pyramid of Giza, built during the reign of Pharaoh Cheops, contained approximately 5.5 million tons of limestone. Over time, the cladding was removed. There is evidence that the casing stones began to be dismantled during the reign of Tutankhamun (ca. 1336-1327 BC), and this continued until the 12th century AD. Earthquake 1303 AD it may also have loosened some of the stones.
Today, remains of the limestone covering can still be seen on the Pyramid of Khafre at Giza. There is nothing left on the top of the pyramid, but at first they were covered with gold and iron.
Some of the tops of the pyramids have been preserved and are in museums. They contain images with religious themes, for example, in the British Museum there is a limestone pinnacle that shows the dead worshiping the god Osiris and mummified by the god Anubis.
