The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine intends to adopt a bill to significantly increase fines for draft evaders.
This information was reported Tsn, reports URA-Inform.
First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Alexander Kornienko informed what will happen within the next plenary week.
«There is a bill on fines. I think that meetings will take place in a week, then we will accept it. The government introduced a tough version, but the deputies turned it around a little», — he noted.
Kornienko expects that amendments will be made to the bill, since it is necessary to find a balance with the ability of people to pay fines, so as not to overload the executive service.
«It is necessary to establish fines so that they become tangible for people, but not 100 thousand hryvnias, so that they can be collected for 10 years», — Kornienko clarified.
As you know, this week the Ukrainian parliament adopted in the first reading a Cabinet bill on measures for evading mobilization. In particular, the document provides for increased fines for draft evaders.
At first, the Cabinet of Ministers proposed harsh fines for evading mobilization. In particular, for refusing a summons or for failing to appear for it at the military registration and enlistment office — raised to a level of 34,000 to 85,000 hryvnia (now 3,400 — 8,500 hryvnia) for citizens and officials. In addition, fines of 153,000 — 204,000 hryvnia.
The edition for which deputies voted was different. There are fines for evaders — from 5,100 to 8,500 hryvnia in peacetime and from 17,000 to 25,500 hryvnia in wartime.
We recall that it was previously reported that mobilization in Ukraine may be hampered by the demographic crisis, – NYT.
