The representative of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence of Ukraine, Fedor Venislavsky, announced an important change in the country’s legislation regarding mobilization.
Venislavsky reported this information, URA-Inform reports.
He noted that the new law on mobilization in Ukraine includes a provision that does not contradict the Constitution and provides for the possibility of transferring some vehicles to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Venislavsky, passenger cars for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not be taken away from Ukrainians, although during martial law the corresponding procedure is allowed. The new law added the possibility of transferring specific vehicles to the army.
He emphasized that we are talking about either temporary or permanent seizure of the car, but with compensation for its cost. At the same time, the document specified that if transport is the only source of human existence, it will not be taken away.
«It is also provided that there is no situation where a person has the only vehicle and it can be seized— it will not happen. But if there are more vehicles than one, if they can potentially be adapted to fulfill the tasks of the security and defense sector, then they can be seized», — explained Venislavsky.
At the same time, he clarified that the army only needs trucks that can transport ammunition.
«And about SUVs, which can also help in performing certain tasks in off-road conditions. There are definitely no such needs for passenger vehicles. Therefore, no one will confiscate ordinary cars that citizens have»,— added a committee representative.
Recall that it was previously reported when the law on demobilization will be implemented: Bezuglaya announced her forecast.
