Today, Tuesday, April 16, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is on a visit to Beijing, where he meets with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
This information was reported by the BBC, URA-Inform reports.
The Chinese leader outlined four principles for resolving the war in Ukraine to the guest from Europe. They promulgated “four principles for preventing the crisis in Ukraine from getting out of control and restoring peace.”
According to Xi Jinping, countries should focus on:
— maintaining peace and stability;
— refraining from seeking selfish goals;
-cooling the situation;
-not adding fuel to the fire.
«We must create conditions for restoring peace and refrain from further increasing tension», — said the leader of China.
At the same time, he emphasized the need to “reduce the negative impact on the global economy.” At the meeting with Scholz, Xi Jinping also emphasized that “the industrial and production chains of China and Germany are deeply connected with each other.”
«Mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Germany — this is not a «risk», but a guarantee of stability in bilateral relations and an opportunity to create the future», — he said.
Together with Scholz, a large delegation of ministers and heads of German enterprises arrived in China on Sunday, April 14.
It is worth noting that «four principles» that concern Ukraine echo last year's document from Beijing, which called for a «political settlement of the conflict» (that's what they call war in China). Some analysts believe that such approaches will allow Russia to retain most of the captured Ukrainian territories.
We recall that it was previously reported that Macron is asking for a truce in the Russian war against Ukraine: the president turned to one person.
