Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that the Trypillya thermal power plant, in the Kiev region, was destroyed by 4 Russian missiles.
Zelensky reported this information, URA-Inform reports.
He noted that before this, the Ukrainian Defense Forces managed to shoot down 7 other missiles that were flying there.
According to Zelensky, the Trypillya thermal power plant could not be protected from a Russian attack because the Ukrainian air defense system ran out of missiles, which protected this object.
«11 missiles were flying. We destroyed the first seven. Four — Tripoli was destroyed. Why? Because we had zero missiles. We have run out of all the missiles that defended Tripoli», — Zelensky noted.
At the same time, the Ukrainian president cited analogies with Iran’s recent attack on Israel and the reaction of the world community.
«When the allies say that they cannot give us this or that weapon, or cannot be in Ukraine with certain forces, because that then it will be perceived that Ukraine has dragged NATO into the war, I want to ask you a question: is Israel in NATO or not? Here's your answer. Israel — It was not the NATO country, but the allies, including NATO countries, that defended Israel. Showed Iranian forces that Israel is not alone. And that's the lesson. And this is the answer to everyone who says on any continent that Ukraine needs to be helped very carefully so as not to drag NATO countries into war», — Zelensky emphasized.
We recall that it was previously reported that Zelensky reproached the allies against the background of the Israeli attack: “No one was drawn into the war.”
