The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine announced the opening of more than 11 thousand criminal cases for evading mobilization or initiating military registration since the beginning of full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
This was reported by the Ukrainian news telegram service, URA-Inform reports.
In 2023, this figure increased, and 6,745 criminal cases were opened. The largest number of cases were opened in the following regions:
- Transcarpathian region – 660 cases. Here, the situation with evasion of mobilization may be related to the geographical location and the difficulty of controlling movements at the border;
- Mykolaiv region – 637 cases. This may be explained by the presence of a large number of military facilities and factories, which creates potential targets for draft dodgers;
- Dnepropetrovsk region – 635 cases. This region has a significant population, which may lead to a higher likelihood of detecting cases of draft evasion.
It is important to note that such numbers indicate the seriousness of the problem of military evasion and the need for motivation citizens who are fleeing the war and, perhaps, do not understand why they need to defend Ukraine at all.
Let us remind you, if you have not paid the fine for failure to appear at the TCC: can they be deprived of your housing and car.
