The Kiev City State Administration reported that now in the capital of Ukraine the situation with payment for hot water supply and heating services is more than complicated.

In this regard, for residents of the capital, penalties for debts on utility bills are being returned. As noted, the total debt of Kiev residents to pay for utilities is about 7.5 billion hryvnia.
Of which:
— more than 6.2 billion hryvnia for consumed hot water supply and heating services;
— about 1.2 billion hryvnia – for the supply of cold water and drainage.
The Kyiv City State Administration warned that citizens who systematically do not pay for services and do not apply to conclude an installment plan will be charged a penalty. It is reflected in the receipts for June.
«There are about a million personal accounts in the capital, of which 160 thousand have been accumulating debt for a long time and do not apply for restructuring. Almost 4.5 billion of debt falls on this 16%. About 10% of subscribers did not make a single payment for the services consumed for the entire last heating season 2023/2024», — said the director of the structural unit «Energosbyt» KP «Kievteploenergo» Konstantin Lopatin.
According to Lopatin, in case of late payment of utility bills, the consumer is obliged to pay a penalty in the amount established in the contract. However, it should not be higher than 0.01% of the debt amount for each day of delay.
He also noted that the consequences of chronic non-payment are especially critical for the operation of enterprises in conditions of energy shortage.
B at the same time in «Kievvodokanal» clarified that a penalty will be charged to consumers who did not pay in January, February, March, April, May 2024 — only for the amount of accruals in these periods.
We recall that it was previously reported that the new electricity tariff: the Minister of Energy said when it will be increased.
