General Director of Ukrhydroenergo Igor Sirota noted that in order to destroy the Kyiv hydroelectric power station, Russian occupiers need to fly into the territory of Ukraine and drop several air bombs hit the dam.
This information was reported by Igor Sirota, reports URA-Inform.
“The Kiev and Kanev hydroelectric power stations are located in the center of Ukraine, far from the front line, therefore, enemy aircraft are unlikely to be able to get closer. This is an extremely unlikely scenario. They were able to blow up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station from the inside, because they brought hundreds of kilograms of explosives there, because it was occupied by them,” — he noted.
According to the official, even in the event of a successful Russian missile attack on the Kyiv hydroelectric power station there will be no disaster. He added that in this case, only a few basements in some areas of Kyiv could be flooded, and residents of nearby settlements would be left without water.
“Several missile strikes in one place can make a hole in the dam, from where water will flow out. But at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, the entire station and 12 spillway gates were practically destroyed. It was a very large channel. This cannot be achieved with missile strikes,” — he added.
We recall that it was previously reported that in the Russian Federation they are afraid of blowing up the dams of the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Station and the Kanev Reservoir: what the enemy is planning.
