Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has officially announced that Russia will not take part in the second conference on Ukraine organized by the president Vladimir Zelensky.
This information was reported by Russian media, URA-Inform reports.
Lavrov outlined a clear position of Russia, emphasizing that the approaches underlying this conference are unacceptable for Moscow. Lavrov expressed serious concerns about the course chosen by the West, noting that “the West has taken a course of pushing through Zelensky’s ultimatum at any cost.”
Despite refusing to participate in the conference, Lavrov stressed that Russia remains open to dialogue on ending the war in Ukraine and discussing the security system in Europe.
“We “ready for negotiations,” Lavrov said, making it clear that Moscow is looking for ways to peacefully resolve the conflict and stabilize the situation on the European continent.
The Foreign Minister also noted that Russia will insist on the inclusion clear and unambiguous language in any future European security treaty. Lavrov said that Moscow will “carefully monitor the wording and guarantees” in order to avoid double interpretations and ensure reliable control mechanisms.
