Former intelligence officer USSR, Sergei Zhirnov expressed the opinion that Russians who are forcibly sent to war in Ukraine may ultimately turn their weapons against the authorities.
Zhirnov reported this information in an interview with the Novosti Factory, reports URA-Inform.
He claims that forced mobilization could be the beginning of the end of the Putin regime. In his opinion, Russians realize that the war in Ukraine affects everyone, and this could lead to a rebellion against those who send them to the deadly front.
Zhirnov warns of the possible consequences of the protracted conflict in Ukraine for Putin's government. He believes that Putin's circle understands that mobilization poses a serious threat to the stability of the regime.
When a person is forced to go to war not of his own free will, but under coercion, it becomes an act of state violence. If such people receive weapons, but do not support the war and do not sympathize with Putin, this can turn against the authorities.
Zhirnov recalls that similar situations have already occurred in Russian history. The February and October revolutions of 1917 happened when armed soldiers returned from the front and staged a revolution. This historical example stopped the Russian authorities from announcing mobilization. Now, according to Zhirnov, the government is developing mechanisms for forced mobilization, but this is an extreme measure.
Sergei Zhirnov emphasizes that forced mobilization and a prolonged war in Ukraine can become catalysts for an internal uprising in Russia. He warns that arming dissenting and dissatisfied citizens poses a serious threat to Putin's regime and can lead to unpredictable consequences.
