Over the coming weeks, a decrease in the frequency of power outages is expected in Ukraine, and by the fall they may disappear completely, said Vladimir Kudrytsky.
Kudrytsky reported this information in an interview with the Suspilne TV channel, URA-Inform reports.
After months of power outages, Ukrainians can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Head of «Ukrenergo» Vladimir Kudritsky said that in the coming weeks the situation with power outages will improve significantly.
This long-awaited progress will be made possible by comprehensive measures to restore damaged energy infrastructure and increase the capacity of generators.
Kudritsky noted with optimism that the situation should improve in a few weeks, as a number of power plants will complete repairs and some power units will be active again. This critical step will gradually reduce the electricity shortage, which will begin to decline markedly in August, reaching its minimum level in September and October. Barring further large-scale attacks, Ukraine has a good chance of getting through this period with either no outages or minimal restrictions.
Ukraine's energy system has shown exceptional resilience despite significant damage from missile attacks. According to Kudritsky, half of the generating capacity that existed in early March was damaged or destroyed.
«Any other power system in such conditions would simply collapse, ending up in a complete blackout for weeks or months,» – he emphasized.
However, experts warn that the relief may be temporary. Although Ukraine may be able to temporarily avoid blackouts for the population in mid-autumn, the situation could become more difficult again with the onset of cold weather.
IMF forecasts indicate that in 2024 the average electricity shortage in Ukraine will be about 10%, but during peak hours it will can reach a critical 30%.
Remember, general mobilization: which of the pensioners should register.
