Since the new law on mobilization came into effect, the conscription of military personnel into the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been gaining momentum.
This information was reported by The New York Times, reports “URA-Inform”.
Now, after the adoption of the law on mobilization of Ukraine, the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are replenished by more than 30 thousand fighters every month.
“Ukrainian authorities have declined to share conscription figures, saying the information is confidential. Three military experts who know the figures said Kiev has been conscripting up to 30,000 people a month since May, when a new mobilization law came into force,” the report says.
It is noted that this number is twice as high as in recent winter months. And although most conscripts are still training in training centers and have not yet been wasted on the battlefield, these months have still managed to significantly strengthen the Ukrainian army. However, there are also cases where some recruits who arrived at their units were physically unfit for combat.
In addition, Ukrainian military personnel interviewed by NYT journalists claim that the mobilization situation has improved significantly compared to the end of 2023, but this does not fully satisfy the need for people. At the same time, there is hope that the front line will be stabilized by the end of this summer.
Recall that it was previously reported why Ukrainians are actually afraid of mobilization: a social survey showed the main reason.
