It became known that the latest The days of July brought long-awaited improvements in the power supply, and the head of the board of “Ukrenergo” Vladimir Kudritsky noted that the peak of summer difficulties was behind us, which made it possible to reduce the number of outages.
This information is reported in the publication's material “RBK-Ukraine”, reports “URA-Inform”.
The main reason for the positive changes was the decline in the unprecedented heat, which reduced the demand for electricity. In addition, the completion of repair work at energy facilities increased available capacity and reduced the deficit.
In the last days of July, the number of outages decreased to one or two queues instead of the usual three or four. Since July 30, restrictions on electricity consumption have completely ceased. As a result, Ukrainians have been enjoying a stable electricity supply for a week now, and energy imports from Europe have decreased after three months of record supplies.
Despite the improvements, Ukrenergo recommends using powerful devices during the daytime from 11:00 to 15:00, when solar power plants generate the most energy.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal identified two key factors for ending the outages: the completion of repairs at two nuclear power plant units and a decrease in air temperature.
Oleksandr Kharchenko, Director of the Energy Research Center, noted that drone and missile attacks could dramatically change the situation. Forecasts are based on the assumption that there will be no new strikes, which makes the future of energy supply unpredictable.
Drone and missile attacks can lead to any consequences. It all depends on what capacity will be lost in such a case. Therefore, all forecasts are based on the fact that there will be no strikes,” added Kharchenko.
