This statement was made by the deputy official representative of the Pentagon Sabrina Singh, who specified that such actions are considered as part of Ukraine's defensive strategy.
«Our position is to support Ukraine in its efforts to defend itself from Russian attacks emanating from border regions such as Kursk and Sumy regions,» Singh said.

However, it is important to note that this permission does not apply to the use of long-range missiles deep in Russian territory. Officials stress that such strikes remain outside the scope of the mandate.
