On Monday in Ukraine an F-16 fighter jet crashed, the official representative of the United States reported.
URA-Inform reported this information with reference to a source from The Wall Street Journal.
The incident occurred in under the conditions of a massive missile strike launched by Russia on Ukrainian territory, however, according to the information provided, the plane was not shot down by enemy fire, but crashed for another reason.
The information about the F-16 crash came amid another wave of Russian attacks on infrastructure facilities and residential areas of Ukraine.
Despite the fact that fighters of this type are often used to defend airspace and intercept enemy missiles, this time the plane was not shot down by an enemy missile. Pentagon representatives cited by the WSJ emphasize that the F-16 crash occurred for technical reasons that are currently unknown.
Against this backdrop, information has emerged that the fates of Toretsk and Pokrovsk have become clearer in the context of military action.
