Prime Minister Denmark's Mette Frederiksen said that Ukraine must win the war with Russia, as there is simply no alternative to this outcome. She noted that a Russian victory would be a serious blow to the entire West.
These statements were made on August 31 at the Globsec Forum conference in Prague, URA-Inform reports.
Frederiksen stressed that Ukraine's success in the war is an “inevitable scenario.” She expressed her conviction that if Russia prevails, the consequences will be felt by all Western countries.
“There is no alternative to Ukraine winning the war. Because if Russia wins, then not only Ukraine will be defeated, but all of us will be defeated,” she said.
The Prime Minister The minister also pointed to the unity of European countries in supporting Ukraine. She noted that although there are sometimes disagreements within Europe, support for Ukraine remains virtually unanimous:
“Sometimes we have internal discussions… But 26 against one,” she stressed, meaning that most EU countries are inclined to support Ukraine.
Since 2022, Denmark has been particularly active in supporting Ukraine. The country has provided all kinds of aid and also supports the EU sanctions against Russia and Belarus. In addition, Denmark provides significant amounts of military aid to the Ukrainian army.
It is worth noting that some Ukrainian experts say that the United States is primarily expecting Ukraine not to win.
