September in Ukraine is characterized by a gradual transition from summer warmth to autumn coolness, which is accompanied by a decrease in temperature and the likelihood of the first frosts throughout the country.
This forecast is given by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, which is referred to by URA-Inform.
According to meteorologists, in September the average air temperature in Ukraine is expected to be within 15-20 degrees, and in the Carpathians – about 13-14 degrees. These figures exceed the average long-term values by 2 degrees. Precipitation this month will be within the norm – from 37 to 76 mm, and in some areas of the Carpathians, figures from 97 to 111 mm are possible.
Based on long-term observations, the average September temperature in most regions of the country fluctuates between 13 and 17 degrees. In the southern regions, higher temperatures are possible – up to 18-20 degrees, and in the mountainous regions they are usually 9-15 degrees Celsius.
The absolute minimum temperature in September can reach -1-7 degrees, especially in the northern and central regions of Ukraine. In the southern regions, such as Kherson and Zaporizhia, minimum temperatures rarely fall below 0-1 degrees, and in Crimea they can reach 5.5 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the absolute maximum temperature can rise to 33-38.8 degrees in the plains, and up to 24-32 degrees in the mountains.
The average precipitation in September is 37-74 mm in most regions. In the southern regions, they can vary from 28 to 36 mm, while in the Carpathian region, Transcarpathia and the Carpathians, precipitation can reach 77-108 mm, and in the highlands of the Carpathians – up to 130 mm.
