Attentively in the Kremlin are monitoring the developments in the US against the backdrop of the upcoming presidential elections and a possible second assassination attempt on Donald Trump. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing on September 16.
The Russian Federation's reaction to the information about the new assassination attempt was reported by URA-Inform, citing Korrespondent.
Peskov noted , that although what is happening in the US is not directly Russia's business, the Kremlin is monitoring the situation.
“We are closely monitoring information coming from the US, but we are not interfering in any way,” he said.
According to him, in the current conditions the political situation in the US is tense, and the political struggle between competitors is intensifying.
Answering a question about the possible influence of the event on the US elections, Peskov emphasized that the Kremlin does not interfere in the internal affairs of another country.
“We see that there is a tense political struggle going on in the United States, but we have never interfered and we do not intend to interfere in this,” he added.
Peskov also commented information about possible links between shooter Ryan Wesley Routt and Ukraine, noting that this issue should be resolved by US intelligence agencies.
“This is more of a concern for US intelligence agencies than for us. Let this whole situation worry US experts, and not us,” he emphasized.
It is also worth recalling that after the second assassination attempt, Trump addressed the people with an emotional statement.
