According to forecasts by Ukrainian officials, no problems with energy supply are expected in the country until the end of October, and possibly until the beginning of November. Despite the risks of shelling and a shortage of generation, the government remains optimistic, based on last year's experience, when the country went through the winter with virtually no power outages.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing RBC-Ukraine.
The main reasons for the outages may only be severe frosts – below 10 degrees, as one of the Cabinet of Ministers representatives noted.
Arguments in favor of such a forecast include a high level of protection of energy facilities, the introduction of additional generation and an increase in electricity imports. Officials hope that these measures will help cope with the challenges, despite ongoing attacks and possible failures of repaired equipment.
However, there is some skepticism among experts. The government's positive expectations have not yet found concrete confirmation, which raises doubts about the reality of the optimistic scenario. Experts warn that unforeseen circumstances can significantly complicate the situation, and at the moment there is no confidence in the stability of the energy supply.
In any case, the coming winter will be a serious test for the energy system of Ukraine. The protection of critical infrastructure, an increase in generation capacity and active import of electricity will be key factors in ensuring a stable energy supply.
