The legendary Wembley Arena in London hosted a fight between IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua, which resulted in Dubois winning an impressive victory.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing Xsport.
From the very beginning, the fight was in Dubois' favor: already in the first round, he sent Joshua into a heavy knockdown with a straight right punch. Although Anthony got back to his feet, his actions in the ring became noticeably less confident.
In the third and fourth rounds, Joshua was again on the floor, and in the fifth round, Dubois finally finished the fight, meeting Anthony with a short right hook that knocked Joshua out. This defeat was a blow to Joshua's career, and for Dubois – a clear confirmation of his position at the top of world boxing.
Unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, commenting on this victory, noted that the outcome of the fight did not surprise him.
“Today Daniel Dubois looked better, but another time Joshua could have won. This is boxing, anything can happen,” Usyk said.
He also added that Joshua's problem is his overly risky maneuvers to avoid punches:
“If you want to avoid a punch, you need to do it in a different way, otherwise the result will be the same as we saw.”
This fight was an important milestone in the career of Dubois, who has now strengthened his position as one of the best fighters in the heavyweight division.
