Heart disease remains one of the main causes of death among women, but their symptoms often manifest differently than in men.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the Telegram channel “Blog about health”.

Research shows that the classic symptom of a heart attack — chest pain — may be much weaker or even absent in women. This can complicate timely diagnosis and lead to fatal consequences.

Doctors note the importance of being aware of lesser-known symptoms so that women can pay attention to their body’s warning signs in time.

Medical experts highlight several symptoms that often go unnoticed but can signal the onset of a heart attack:

  • unusual fatigue: Women may experience a strong feeling of fatigue that does not go away even after adequate rest. This may be due to poor circulation and insufficient oxygen supply to the tissues;
  • Back, jaw, or neck pain: Instead of traditional chest pain, women often experience discomfort in these areas. The pain may be dull or sharp, and may wax and wane at times;
  • Nausea and dizziness: Some women may feel nauseous, weak, or even unbalanced during a heart attack, which is often mistaken for symptoms of fatigue or food poisoning;
  • Difficulty breathing: A feeling of suffocation, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing is one of the key signs of a heart attack in women. Breathing problems can occur even in the absence of physical activity.

In addition, doctors also warned that a person may feel 1 month before a stroke.
