It became known that In the US election race, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris continues to lead her main rival, Donald Trump, according to the latest Western poll.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Reuters and Ipsos.
It is noted that the gap between the candidates is narrowing, and the economy is becoming a key factor that could play a decisive role in the elections. According to the results of a social survey conducted at the end of September, Harris is leading with the support of 46% of respondents, while Trump is gaining 43%.
While Harris retains an advantage, the gap between the two has narrowed to 3 percentage points, a marked change from the previous poll, in which Trump was trailing by 6 points. It shows that support for the Republican nominee is growing as the election approaches, adding tension to the race.
The economy remains a central issue for most American voters. According to the poll, 70% of respondents believe the “cost of living” is the most important issue for the next president to address, eclipsing topics such as the labor market, taxes and personal financial well-being.
Trump, who has a stronger economic standing among respondents, has an advantage on issues related to economic management. Some 44% of respondents believe he has the best approach to solving the cost of living issue, while only 38% expressed confidence in Harris on this issue. This indicates that the economy remains a “weak point” for Harris' campaign, despite her overall lead.
Meanwhile, Zelensky has already managed to make an urgent new demand of Biden.
