More 53% of students have ever encountered bullying, but due to fear of condemnation or worsening the situation, only half of them reported it to their parents or teachers.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to press – the Ministry of Education and Science service.
The press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine reported that cases of bullying in schools can now be reported quickly and anonymously.
In particular, the Ministry of Education and Science has introduced an option for quickly reporting cases of bullying. From now on, a child or his parents can fill out a short form and send an electronic complaint, involving the school administration and, if necessary, the police in solving the problem.
How to report cases of bullying online:
— go to the AIKOM website and click the “Report bullying” button;
— register or log in to an existing account;
— fill out a short form. You can submit the application anonymously or provide your details;
— click the “Continue” button and confirm the application;
— read the recommendations on how to respond to bullying.
The Ministry of Education and Science noted that if the application is created by a child, he will have two options:
— do not provide any identifying information, then the application will be completely anonymous;
— provide personal information, which will make it much easier for the school and the police to resolve a specific situation.
If the application is created by parents or other legal representatives, then it is impossible to create an anonymous application.
“Anonymous applications can only be considered at the school level, but if you feel that the situation requires the involvement of police representatives, then it is better to provide information that can help the school and the police contact you and help resolve the situation effectively,” the department explained.
It is noted that in an anonymous application it is sufficient to only describe the cases of bullying that have occurred. If the statement is sent to the police, then evidence or testimony may be required to confirm the fact of bullying.
