In Russia on October 22 The 16th BRICS summit has started.
URA-Inform reports this with reference to ISW.
Analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War believe that during the event, Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin may try to create mechanisms to strengthen his military forces in Ukraine.
Experts noted that 36 world leaders arrived in Kazan, including from the People's Republic of China (PRC), India, South Africa and Iran. In addition, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, Taliban Minister of Trade and Industry Nuruddin Azizi, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other world leaders also attended the summit.
On the sidelines of the summit, the Russian dictator has already held some bilateral talks with world leaders. According to analysts, Putin met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping to discuss the multifaceted relations between the countries.
In addition, the head of the Kremlin met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, with whom he discussed bilateral relations, the creation of a multipolar world order, and the use of national currencies in mutual trade settlements.
“Russia is likely to use the BRICS summit as an opportunity to demonstrate its efforts to strengthen global ties with non-Western states and, perhaps, establish agreements and trade mechanisms through which it can support its military efforts in Ukraine by easing the impact of Western sanctions,” — they believe at the Institute.
It also became known that Putin has two options for “victory”: Zhdanov revealed the dictator's plans.
