Fraudsters have come up with a new way to deceive owners of mobile devices via the popular messenger Telegram.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Gsminfo.
In particular, they send users malicious files with an enticing message: “Hi, this is are you in the photo? This provocative message encourages people to open the file to see the image.
However, you should never do this, as it can lead to infection of the device. Instead of the expected photo, you will receive malware that can harm your phone. Be careful if you receive a message saying “Hi, is that you in the photo?” with an attached file. Do not open such files under any circumstances!
Please note that real photos are not have APK extensions, while these are the files that scammers send to Telegram. This scheme is becoming more and more common. Remember: your vigilance is the best defense against scammers. If you do become a victim of fraud, contact law enforcement immediately.
Recall that earlier it was reported that there is an unusual trend in dating in supermarkets: in Europe they came up with a “code” for courting.
