On Saturday, On October 26, official delegations from Ukraine and India held a meeting to discuss prospects for cooperation between the countries in the defense industry.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the press service of the Ministry for Strategic Industries.
The press service of the Ministry for Strategic Industries reported that the issues and the course along which the partners will move are currently being determined. They noted that the negotiations were attended by Minister for Strategic Industries German Smetanin and Ambassador of the Republic of India Ravi Shankar, as well as Naval Attaché Santosh Belliappa.
During the meeting, the prospects of Ukrainian-Indian cooperation in the defense industry were discussed. The Minister noted that India is a strategic partner for Ukraine.
“Ukraine is open to expanding the geography of partnerships in the defense industry, we are ready to consider various forms of cooperation. At this stage, it is important to study the capabilities and needs of the defense industries of both our countries, determine the issues and the course we will take,” — said German Smetanin.
The Ambassador thanked the Ukrainian Minister for his efforts.
“I welcome the proposal to expand cooperation in the defense industry and assure the Minister of the Embassy's support in identifying specific proposals,” Ravi Shankar noted.
