«These are the countries that, according to participants in a global survey, are considered to be the owners of strong armies,' the report says.
In this rating, which includes 30 countries, the Russian army took first place, followed by the armed forces of the United States and Israel. The fourth position was taken by the Chinese army , followed by South Korea, Iran and Great Britain. Ukraine was ranked eighth in the ranking of the world's strongest armies. Germany and Turkey round out the top ten.
The rating's compilers explain that the Russian economy is largely based on its vast natural resources, primarily oil and gas production. In addition, Russia was named one of the world's leading arms exporters, second only to the United States in terms of volumes of deliveries.
Regarding Ukraine, US News and World Report notes that the “nation, whose history has seen long periods of occupation from other countries, today is struggling between war and peace, and between corruption and reform».
It also became known how Ukrainians feel about peace negotiations with the Russian Federation: survey data.
