According to a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel John Nagl, Ukraine today desperately needs decisive support from the next American administration.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to 24tv.
He emphasized that immediately after elections, the US president must highlight Ukraine's independence as a key interest for the country. Nagl believes the new administration must reaffirm its commitment to helping Ukraine as long as it takes to achieve victory.
This, he says, will impact Putin's strategy. The lieutenant colonel also noted that a certain compromise may be needed to end the war, but neither side will be fully satisfied with the outcome.
“I don't see Russia's complete defeat, I don't see Ukraine, which is supported by the West, completely winning. I suppose that this end state could include Ukraine giving in by immediately joining NATO, but in exchange Poland would station a tank division inside Ukraine, and the US would do the same in Poland,” Nagl predicted.
He noted that this would strengthen NATO's eastern flank and create great difficulties for Putin or his successor to resume the war in the future.
Meanwhile, Nebenzya distinguished himself with new statements about Ukraine: “There will be no freezing of the front.”
