NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that simply helping the Ukrainian Armed Forces to hold out in battles against Russian aggressors is no longer enough.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Reuters.
He noted that NATO countries are obliged to increase their assistance to Kyiv in the war with Russia.
“We must renew our commitment to the course of the war, and we must do more than just 'keep' Ukraine in the fight. We must raise the cost of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and his authoritarian threats by giving Ukraine the support it needs to change the trajectory of the conflict,” noted Rutte.
At the same time, the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance drew attention to the fact that Russia, which cooperates with China, Iran and North Korea, threatens peace and security not only in Europe, but also in the Indo-Pacific region and North America.
In turn, French leader Emmanuel Macron stressed that he would insist that Ukraine continue to receive as much help as it needs.
«This is the only way to negotiations, and I want to say clearly that when the time comes: nothing can be decided regarding Ukraine without Ukrainians and nothing can be decided regarding Europe without Europeans», — he noted.
Meanwhile, the Russian Federation urgently needs to wind down the war: one of the key arguments has been named why the Kremlin needs peace.
