According to sources in the Office of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky made a strategic decision to continue missile strikes on Russian territory, despite the Kremlin's ultimatum about possible strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the Telegram channel “Resident”.
“Andriy Yermak, head of the Presidential Office, noted that Ukraine is acting in close cooperation with its partners, but all key decisions on the choice of targets and timing of attacks are made in Kyiv,” the statement reads at the beginning of the report.
This decision indicates Ukraine’s readiness to defend its interests, despite increasing pressure from Russia.
In addition, maintaining operational independence in matters of defense allows Ukrainian forces to control and select targets, putting pressure on the enemy. This decision underlines that the Ukrainian leadership is ready to take risks in order to maintain its positions, and also signals to the international community about Ukraine's unwavering will to fight.
At the same time, it became known how many DPRK soldiers and Russian officers died after the Storm Shadow strike along Maryino.
