Every driver It is known that at gas stations you can find different types of gasoline, which differ not only in price, but also in certain characteristics.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Unian.
In Ukraine, the main types of gasoline available for refueling are AI-92, AI-95 and AI-95 premium. Their main distinguishing feature is cost and quality, which is directly related to the octane number. The higher this indicator, the more resistant the fuel is to detonation, which has a positive effect on engine operation.
At gas stations, the octane number is indicated by a number after the abbreviation “AI”. The letter “A” indicates the use of fuel for automobile engines, and “I” indicates that the octane number is determined by a research method. Accordingly, the higher the number, the better the fuel: AI-92 is a universal choice, while gasoline with a higher number provides better engine performance and increases the dynamics of the car.
Drivers often ask themselves: what is the difference between AI-95 and AI-95 premium or gasoline marked “Euro”? The difference is not in the octane number, which is the same, but in the addition of additives. Premium gasoline contains components that improve engine cleanliness, reduce friction, and protect against corrosion.
Can AI-95 be mixed with its premium version? The answer is clear – yes. Since their octane numbers are identical, mixing will not affect engine performance or durability.
