Head of representative office NATO in Ukraine Patrick Turner noted that the Alliance has been present in one way or another on Ukrainian territory for 26 years.

According to him In 2024, the North Atlantic Alliance tripled its presence in Ukraine. Already in 2025, NATO plans to strengthen it even more.
“There have been various forms of presence: a Liaison Office, an Information and Documentation Centre, but now we are a NATO Representation. NATO's presence here has tripled this year, and we plan to strengthen it even more next year,” & #8212; Turner emphasized.
The official noted that this is in line with some of the key decisions of the Washington NATO summit, which took place this summer. In addition, it reflects decisions made before the summit. Turner explained that such a presence is intended to represent NATO headquarters in its entirety and to be a link between headquarters and Kiev.
“The goal is to represent the entire very important agenda between the Alliance and Ukraine, so we need a significant presence,” he noted.
