On board a Thai flight Airways from Taiwan to Bangkok there was an incident that shocked passengers.
This was reported by “URA-Inform” with reference to Cursorinfo.
It is reported that one of the travelers began to behave aggressively: He ran up and down the aisle, screaming and trying to open the plane's emergency door at altitude.
During the process, the man hit several crew members, but the flight attendants quickly intervened. They managed to neutralize the offender and secure him in his seat for the rest of the flight. Thanks to the well-coordinated work of the crew, the plane landed safely in Bangkok.
“The man’s family confirmed that he had a history of mental illness. He had been treated previously, but it is not known whether he is still taking medication. His partner, who lives in Taiwan, sent him back to Thailand due to his health condition,” a police spokesman said.
After landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport, the offender was detained by police. During the investigation, it was found that the man suffered from a mental disorder and the results of a drug test were negative.
According to the police spokesman, the man was released as none of the passengers or crew were injured and the plane was safe. If found guilty, the offender could have faced up to seven years in prison and a significant fine.
