Vladimir Putin once again stated Russia's desire to end the conflict in Ukraine.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing Russian media.
This statement was made in the context of his meeting with the Prime Minister Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico, who spoke in favor of a peaceful settlement. Slovakia, according to Putin, is ready to provide its territory for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
However, behind the scenes of such statements there are many contradictions. On the one hand, the words Putin's statements that Russia “will continue to achieve the goals of the special military operation” in 2025 contradict the idea of a quick end to the conflict.
On the other hand, Slovakia's offer to act as a mediator may indicate Russia's desire to create the appearance of readiness for dialogue, while maintaining their strategic positions.
Experts note that Putin's doubts about the war ending soon are connected not only with the military situation, but also with international pressure. The phrase “if only you could drink honey with your lips” emphasizes his pessimism and, perhaps, hints at the difficulty of future negotiations.
At the same time, the Russian Federation declared its readiness to negotiate with Trump.
