Russia accused Ukraine of opening of a “second front” in Africa.
This was reported by “URA-Inform” with reference to Cursorinfo.
Russian Ambassador to Mali and Niger Igor Gromyko stated that Ukraine supports rebel groups in countries such as Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso, which oppose governments friendly to Moscow.
Ukraine, which has suffered setbacks on the battlefield with Russia, has switched to supporting armed groups fighting pro-Russian regimes. Gromyko recalled that Mali broke off diplomatic relations with Kiev in August. This decision was made after reports of Ukraine's support for Tuareg rebels who killed Russian mercenaries from the Wagner PMC and Malian soldiers in July.
Kyiv is also accused of aiding terrorist groups destabilizing the Sahel region. In response to these actions, the authorities of Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso expressed dissatisfaction through diplomatic channels. Some of the countries, including Mali and Niger, officially severed relations with Ukraine.
Information about Kiev's support for the rebels appeared in materials from the French Le Monde newspaper. This provoked protests and a worsening diplomatic crisis between Ukraine and countries supporting Russia.
Recall that earlier it was reported that the Russian Federation had set a strict condition: Putin was given time to think until about the New Year.< /p>
