Saturday 28 December, the head of the Kremlin Vladimir Putin signed a number of laws that should ensure increased control within the state.
This was reported by “URA-Inform” with reference to “Meduza”.
< p>According to the publication, armed rebellion and terrorism in the Russian Federation will now be punishable by 20 years in prison to life imprisonment. Persons convicted of this crime will not have the right to parole. Also, foreigners who facilitate attempts to undermine the security of the Russian Federation face up to 15 years in prison.
In addition to the above, the country will introduce criminal liability for crimes against military service for “voluntary formations”, including desertion, resistance to superiors, voluntary surrender and destruction of military property.
The Russian leadership has also expanded the criteria for inclusion in the list of extremists, and Rosfinmonitoring has received access to information about the accounts of people who financially support extremism.
Russian ruler Putin has also given life to a new strategy for combating extremism, which provides for the “elimination of threats emanating from the territory of Ukraine”.
The law also contains measures for the “sociocultural integration” of the captured territories of Ukraine. The strategy will now consider threats to the stability of the Russian Federation to include participation in “unauthorized protests, initiating color revolutions, falsification of history and terrorism”.
The dictatorial law pays special attention to combating the promotion of the idea of ”decolonization”, as well as the aggravation of the national question. Within this framework, Moscow plans to actively promote the idea of the “historical unity of the peoples of the Russian Federation.”
