In the Kharkov region the construction of fortifications and circular defense of the two cities continues.

The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, noted that the work to strengthen the defense of Izyum and Balakleya continues according to plan and under the control of the military.
According to him, these are planned events, because now it is necessary to take into account the front line and a possible change in the direction of the enemy's movement. However, he did not comment in detail at what stage work is underway.
“I can’t comment on what stage it’s at. Let’s just say, the administration is carrying out the tasks assigned to it, but of course, some of the work is being done by the military themselves. I will say that the work is going according to plan, our military is fully in control of it,” — Sinegubov noted.
It is worth noting that earlier various publications reported that the defense of the cities of Izyum and Balakleya in the Kharkiv region was being strengthened. In particular, on December 26, Sinegubov noted that these areas are of strategic importance, and their strengthening is a key element in ensuring the security of the region. In particular, this will increase the level of protection of the local population and contain a possible threat.
