Military expert Alexander Musienko warned that there is a high probability of a new massive strike on Ukraine in the coming days.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Dialog.
Musienko noted that his forecast about possible attacks on New Year's Eve was unfortunately confirmed. According to him, Russia launched powerful strikes on Kyiv on the holiday night. Drones were able to reach the central areas of the capital, including the government quarter and Bankova Street. As a result, one of the historical sites was damaged – the building of the Union of Writers of Ukraine.
The expert stressed that such attacks have not only a military but also a political subtext. In his opinion, the strikes on the center of Kyiv are aimed at delegitimizing the Ukrainian government.
«Russia's target could have been the government quarter, which is symbolic of Putin's attempts to undermine trust in Zelensky. This is another way to emphasize the theses about the «illegitimacy» Ukrainian leadership and refusal to negotiate with it, Musienko explained.
The expert also warned Ukrainians:
«In addition, it must be said that the drones also flew to other areas of the capital. Debris fell there in the same way, there are victims, that is, the enemy does not stop its terrorist attacks, and there is a possibility that these attacks will continue in the coming days».
At the same time, Zelensky held a closed meeting: an insider revealed what was decided on Ukraine.
