How to clean a cast iron frying pan
Cast iron cookware can be cleaned with hard sponges and brushes without the risk of damaging the surface. To remove carbon deposits and soot, you will need soda and vinegar:
- Cover the dirty frying pan with a thick layer of soda.
- Pour in vinegar and leave for an hour.
- After that, remove the remaining carbon deposits with a brush.
How to clean a frying pan with a non-stick coating
Soap solutions are suitable for delicate non-stick surfaces:
- Mix a quarter of a grated bar of laundry soap, 10 g of salt, 10 g of mustard powder and 2 tbsp. ammonia.
- Apply the mixture to the pan and leave for 30 minutes.
- Rinse the dishes with water.
Method with potato starch
For alternative cleaning:
- Immerse the pan in a container of water.
- Add starch (100 g per 2 liters of water).
- Boil for 30 minutes – all the dirt will come off.
