Ukraine is actively working on the creation of their own means of waging war, and one of the promising developments was the Trembita missile.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to The Telegraph.
It is noted that this munition could become the cheapest deep strike weapon in the world, capable of reaching Moscow. At an estimated cost of only about $10,000 per unit, the Trembita is capable of delivering 18 kilograms of explosives up to 144 kilometers.
The missile is about two meters long, weighs 90 kilograms, and is launched from a ramp. Its design includes a pulse jet engine, a tubular fuselage, and a square wing, making production as cost-effective as possible.
The developer is also working on an improved version of the missile that can fly up to 650 kilometers and reach Moscow. This modification is expected to be ready in a year and will cost more than the basic version, but will still remain the most affordable deep strike munition.
For comparison, the ATACMS missile, which has a maximum range of 300 kilometers, costs more than $ 1 million.
“Ukraine's new cruise missile “Trembita” may become the biggest symbol of its desire for autonomous firepower. Waiting for the day when it runs out of American ammunition, Ukraine is preparing to create “Trembita” and other long-range deep strike munitions. There are many of them, the article says.
At the same time, the Ukrainian “Trembita” allows for mass production without significant external financial injections, which emphasizes its strategic importance for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
