This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the Telegram channel “Blog about health”.
As is known, sausages, ham and hot dogs – products that can be found in almost every refrigerator – are becoming increasingly dangerous enemies of health.
Scientists warn that consuming just 50 grams of processed meat daily increases the risk of cardiovascular disease by 42%, and the likelihood of developing diabetes by 19%. These figures highlight the scale of the problem, which is rooted in daily eating habits.
The reasons for this impact are related to the high content of saturated fats, salt and preservatives in processed meats products.
The above-mentioned substances not only contribute to an increase in cholesterol levels, but also provoke inflammatory processes in the body. People over 40 are especially vulnerable to such effects, as well as those who already have risk factors, such as excess weight or a genetic predisposition to heart disease.
Doctors strongly recommend reducing the consumption of processed meat, replacing it with fresh foods rich in protein and fiber. Switching to a healthy diet can significantly reduce risks and improve overall health.
What's more, scientists say that the very tasty product lowers cholesterol.
