Ukrainian meteorologist Igor Kibalchich explained that the cold snap is due to the fact that this week an anticyclone will come to the territory of our state.
“The beginning of the new week will take place in Ukraine in conditions anticyclone and high pressure field. Due to this, a decrease in air temperature is expected, especially in the western part of the country, where night-time frosts can in some places get stronger to -15-20°C,” the specialist emphasized.
According to him, already in the second half of the week the western transfer of air masses from the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean will become more active, so the air temperature will rise again. Also this week, moderate precipitation in the form of snow with a transition to rain and fog is possible. Fog and icy roads are not excluded.
