The inauguration ceremony will begin at 12:00 PM Eastern North American Time, or 7:00 PM Kyiv time. The event will be broadcast on the official White House websites. Trump's inauguration will be shown live on ABC, CBS, CNN, C-SPAN, Fox News, MSNBC, NBC and PBS. The Voice of America will also broadcast the event with commentary in Ukrainian.
How the inauguration will take place
The ceremony will begin with a traditional prayer service at St. John's Episcopal Church. Trump will then head to the White House for the traditional tea with the outgoing president and first lady.
After tea with Joe Biden, the president-elect will head to the Capitol, where he will be officially sworn in. After Trump takes the oath of office and delivers his inaugural address, there will be a ceremonial farewell with Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump will then have to sign key documents.
Next up is a dinner hosted by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies. The parade will run from the Capitol building down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House, and later that evening Trump will appear at three inaugural balls: the Commander-in Chief Ball, the Liberty Inaugural Ball, and the Starlight Ball.
Who will attend the ceremony
The ceremony is expected to be attended by current President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who was also Trump's main rival in the current election. Also attending the event will be former presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush with his wife, billionaires Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg, and TikTok CEO Show Zi Chu, who was blocked in the United States.
At the same time, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky did not receive an official invitation to the ceremony.
In addition, country star Carrie Underwood, the legendary disco group Village People and opera singer Christopher Macchio will perform at the ceremony. Trump's inauguration ceremony is expected to be the most expensive in the last 32 years.
