The European Union in 2025 plans to provide Ukraine with financial assistance in the amount of 35 billion euros.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to NV Business.
This information was confirmed on January 22 by Vice – President of the European Commission and European Commissioner for Trade Valdis Dombrovskis. The funds will be allocated under two key programs: the G7 ERA credit initiative and the Ukraine Facility program.
These funds will be part of a long-term strategy to support Ukraine in the conditions of war and to restore infrastructure , affected by the fighting.
The European Commission emphasizes that the funding will be directed towards stabilizing the economy, modernizing the energy sector and developing key social programs. In particular, part of the funds are planned to be used to support small and medium-sized businesses, which will create new jobs and strengthen the domestic market.
Dombrovskis also noted that the EU sees Ukraine as an important partner in energy security issues, especially in the context of aspirations to abandon Russian energy sources.
Financial assistance will be provided in the form of preferential loans and grants, the terms of which have already been agreed upon with the Ukrainian government. Experts predict that this will support the country's macroeconomic stability in the coming years.
Moreover, the expert predicts a significant increase in the price of the strategic product.
