Security service Ukraine has carried out a successful special operation to detain a high-ranking FSB agent who worked for the Ukrainian special services. The traitor turned out to be the head of the SBU Anti-Terrorist Center Headquarters, Colonel Dmitry Kozyura, who had secretly collaborated with Russian intelligence for many years.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing the SBU Facebook page.
According to the head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, 14 episodes of the detainee's criminal activity were documented. The operation to identify him was extremely complex and included a whole range of measures, including:
1. Penetrating the traitor's devices using encrypted software bookmarks.
2. Establishing audio and video surveillance.
3. Carrying out other operational and technical actions.
As a result, SBU officers collected exhaustive evidence of his connection with the FSB, and also recorded facts of collecting and transmitting classified information to Russian special services.
It is interesting that Ukrainian counterintelligence used the traitor for its own purposes for a long time, sending disinformation to the enemy through him. «At first, this happened as part of counterintelligence activities, and then during criminal proceedings,» said Malyuk.
