From March 1, 2025, a traditional indexation of pensions will be carried out in Ukraine. This process has been automated and has been happening annually since 2017 as part of pension reform. The indexation is carried out taking into account the level of inflation and the growth of the average salary over the past year, which guarantees an increase in payments to most pensioners. & Nbsp;
This is reported by Ura-Inform, referring to RBC-Ukraine.
1. Who will increase the pension & nbsp;
The recalculation will affect pensioners whose payments are accrued by the Law “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance”. Basically, these are labor pensions that make up about 95% of all pension payments. Special pensions, for example, for military or civil servants, are indexed by certain government decisions. & Nbsp;
The former Minister of Social Policy Pavel Rosenko explained that the annual indexation of pensions is now a mandatory norm its cancellation. & nbsp;
2. What will be the size of the indexation & nbsp;
The size of the indexation is determined by the formula that includes two indicators: & nbsp;
— 50% of the inflation level over the past year & nbsp;
— 50%of the average wage growth & nbsp;
in 2024, inflation was 12%, and salaries increased by 16%. According to preliminary data, pensions will index by about 13-14%. However, the final figures are approved by the government at the end of February. & Nbsp;
3. What will be the increase in payments & nbsp;
the amount of the increase depends on the current pension: & nbsp;
— 100-200 hryvnias-for pensioners with minimal payments & nbsp;
— 300-400 hryvnias-for those whose pension is 3,000-4,000 hryvnias & nbsp;
— 400-500 hryvnias-for recipients of pensions of 5,000 hryvnias & nbsp;
— from 1,000 hryvnias – for pensioners receiving more than 10,000 hryvnias & nbsp;
surcharges will be calculated automatically, and the recalculated amounts will go to the accounts of pensioners from March 1. & nbsp;
